R.I.P. Twenties

midyear-2009-035aToday I mourn the loss of my 20′s and celebrate the birth of my 30′s.  I’ve never been afraid of growing older; I’m just not a huge fan of growing up.  I don’t want to live in a world where I can’t have a moonbounce at my birthday party, or one where I can’t dance crazy-like at a wedding, or eat cereal for dinner.  I don’t want to miss or forget the joys of being a kid, like the feeling of the first day of summer, or the excitement of wearing your first pair of heels.

I hear your 30′s is a good decade.  I’m looking forward to finding the truth in this.  But, give me a few days to embrace my new age!

I had the best time in my 30′s and quite honestly my 40′s were even better. Don’t mourn, move on and enjoy!

Well, I can’t say I recall the excitement of wearing my first pair of heels…

Just because you turned 30 doesn’t mean you have to grow up. Trust me, I’m 48 and still haven’t.

Happy belated #30 Sarah, It was such a pleasure to meet you IRL in DC last week.

As someone waaay past my thirties, I can honestly say each decade offers both good & bad. My 30′s were the decade I finally came to know myself and not care much what others thought. It’s very freeing. Sarah has a great bunch of friends, a really nice husband and a great business. And BTW the party was great, too. Thanks for letting me hang out with ya -punk. I’m planning on pony rides and a ferris wheel for your 40th.
