You know what the best feeling in the world is?  Giving a deserving cat or dog a forever home!  This week Sarahiously Speaking is featuring two animals who have been at the Fredericksburg SPCA for over a year.  It’s time these furry friends found a permanent home!

Meet Lemoncello! 

Lemoncello

Lemoncello is a 2 year old spayed female.  This beautiful girl has been at the shelter since July 2009.  She is a very sweet little girl who enjoys sitting in your lap while you pet her.  She is best with children over the age of 10.  She loves to run and play.  There are quite a few black cats that have been waiting for new families at the shelter for over a year.  Don’t make Lemoncello another statistic!  Take her home today!

Meet Nigel!

 

Nigel

Nigel has been at theFredericksburg Animal Shelter since January 2009.  That’s 2.5 years with no family!  He is a very sweet, almost 4 year old Terrier/ American Pit Bull.  His new family should have a fenced yard so he has plenty of romping room in the safety of his own back yard.  Like any dog, obedience classes would do him some good.  He needs an experienced dog owner.  He’s good with other dogs and adults.  He loves toys and is very playful.  If you need a friend to lounge on the couch with, Nigel’s your guy!   

 

The adoption fee for Lemoncello and Nigel has been reduced to $25!  That’s an incredible deal for a new best friend.  Microchipping is included in the adoption fee.

Oh Furry Friday!  How I’ve missed you!  I’m getting back into the swing of things and have horribly neglected the already needy animals at the Fredericksburg SPCA.  So, without further ado, let’s see who’s up for adoption!

   Meet Snookie!

Snookie is an independent gal who likes to be loved on her own terms.  She is not a cuddler, but loves to   play.  Snookie is a 2 year old domestic medium-hair mix.  Snookie does best in a home with children over 8 years old.  She has been a resident at the SPCA since December 19, 2008.  She is definitely looking for a forever home.  However, if you can’t find room in your home for her, but can find room in your heart, she can be sponsored for $25/ month.  This will allow the shelter to provide her with food and routine medical care. 

Meet Frankie!

Frankie is a young, male, black lab mix.  He is very smart and very crafty.  He has been known to let himself out of his kennel room at the SPCA.  Like most Labradors, I am full of energy and can run all day long.  Frankie has been in the shelter since June 8, 2010.   Frankie’s dream parent would be someone who enjoys jogs in the park or along the canal path.  He can be a little shy when he first meet someone, but soon we become best friends.  Frankie needs a parent who can train him and enjoy his energy level!  Frankie is also up for sponsorship.  For $25/ month the Fredericksburg SPCA can provide Frankie with wet and dry dog food and routine medical care.

Buster is just smitten with his sister Bear and is ready to love a new family.  He is a Labrador Retriever/ Chow Chow mix.  He is very sweet and energetic.  Buster is 4 years old and is good with adults and other dogs.  Buster us neutered and up-to-date on his shots.  Please remember that Buster and Bear are a package deal.  If you have room in your heart and home for these two, please contact the Fredericksburg SPCA today to make arrangements to meet them. 

Meet Twinkle

Twinkle is a 13 year old domestic short hair.  Her former family could no longer take care of her, so she finds herself at the animal shelter.  Twinkle is a very pretty girl with beautiful green eyes.  She is a very gentle cat with a delicate meow.  Twinkle is declawed in the front, so she needs to be an indoor cat.  She deserves a good home to enjoy her senior years.  If you need a companion who needs you just as much, Twinkle is the girl for you!

Meet Ollie!

Ollie is an all white, domestic short-hair, 3 year old male.  He has sparkling blue eyes that will melt your heart.  He prefers to be an only cat, but is good with adults and children.  He loves to be petted and cuddled.  He also enjoys window watching.  Ollie is up-to-date on his shots and is neutered.  if you have the room in your heart and home for Ollie, please contact the Fredericksburg SPCA today to make an appointment to meet him.  You won’t be disappointed!

Meet Buckets!

This little guy is a bundle of joy!  Bucket’s is a 2.5 month old labrador retriever mix.  He is good with adults and children.  He is a puppy with loads of energy, so be ready to play and and give him lots of attention.  obedience training is highly recommended for Buckets.  He is up-to-date on his shots and neutered.  If you need a little ray of sunshine in your life, contact the Fredericksburg SPCA today to set up a time to meet Buckets.  He’s ready to be a part of your family!

Meet Trixie!

Trixie is a 10-12 month old female bobtail.  She is just the cutest little girl.  She loves to play and window watch.  She enjoys being the center of attention and playing with toys.  She has been around other cats and does very well when properly introduced.  Her sweet and friendly personality makes her good with children and adults.  She is up-to-date on her shots and is spayed.  She would love to be in a new home by Father’s Day and celebrate with your family!  Call today to make an appointment to meet Trixie! 

Meet Jersey!

Jersey is a 4 year old female, hound mix.  She’s a woman who knows what she wants, so obedience classes may be a good idea to continue her training and help her bond with her new family.  She is very smart and eager to learn.  She is a good listener, but still needs a family who is patient and willing to put in a little effort.  Jersey loves to play and is good with kids and adults.  Her energy makes her a perfect companion for an athletic family!  She is good with other dogs.  This hound is one smart cookie and is very outgoing.  She is up-to-date on her shots and is spayed.  Come visit Jersey and see if she will make a perfect addition this summer!

The 2010 Fredericksburg SPCA Rescue Run, sponsored by Coldwell Banker Elite, is being held this Sunday, June 13, 2010.  The race starts at 7am sharp.  Registration is $25 and you can register the morning of the race.  Registration will be held from 6-6:45am at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library on Caroline Street.  Light breakfast refreshments will be provided after the race.  For more information please click here. 

Meet Lina!

Lina is a short-haired Calico female.  She is looking for a family that enjoys cuddling and petting her.  Some may call her needy, she prefers to be called co-dependent.  Lina is vocally grateful for opening your home to her and will be a member of the family in no time.  She enjoys running and being groomed.  She is good with children.  Lina is 6.5 years old and is ready to settle down in a permanent home.  Lina is up-to-date on her shots and is spayed.  If you think Lina would make your household complete, call the SPCA today and schedule an appointment to meet her!

Smudge is a one-year old Lhasa Apso.  She is energetic and loves to get attention.  She enjoys playing with toys and affection from her family. Meet Barney!

Barney is a Domestic Long-Hair Black and White kitten.  He is about 6 months old.  He loves to cuddle and is being cardboard scratcher trained while at the shelter.  He is doing very well at this training.  Barney is a social butterfly and really wants to find a new family soon.  He is neutered and up-to-date on his shots.  He is good with adults and children.  If you have room in your heart and extra hugs to give out for a sweet cat like Barney, contact the Fredericksburg SPCA today and set up an appointment to meet the feline adoptees!

Callie is absoluetly adorable and has a super sweet personality to match!  She loves playing with toys and really enjoys cardboard scratch pads.  Callie is energetic and likes to run around and play.  She was an only-child in her previous homes, but does get along well with other cats as long as you introduce her properly.  She is about 8 months old and good with adults and children.  Callie is up-to-date on her shots and is spayed.  Please make an appointment to see her soon!  She is too cute to pass up.

Meet Yogi!

Yogi is Labrador retriever, rottweiler mix.  Yogi is sweet and gentle with a little bit of a shy side, but he warms up to you very quickly.  He is good with adults, children, and other dogs.  Yogi really enjoys going on walks, running and playing, and being groomed.  Yogi is about 6.5 years old and is neutered and up-to-date on his shots.  Please give the SPCA a call today and visit Yogi.  He would love a new home for the holidays!

He’s no hounddog, for sure!  He’s a beautiful creamy domestic short hair feline that is ready to be king of your household.  Elvis is about 4-5 years old and is looking for a permanent family.  He is good with adults and children.  He is up-to-date on his shots and is neutered.  He packs light, no blue suede shoes for this boy, and is ready to make your house the hippest place on the block!

Bull is a 5 month old labrador retriever/ sheppard mix who is a new resident at the SPCA.  He is shy and very sweet and his brother and 2 sisters are also at the shelter.  Bull will grow to be a big, strong dog and obedience classes would be a good investment.  Bull is good with adults and children.  He likes to run and loves being groomed.  If you have the time for a high energy pup, Bull is the dog for you!  He is up-to-date on his shots.
